Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal in Ellicott City, Maryland

The topic of mercury fillings has been debated in dentistry for decades. Metal amalgam fillings are composed of approximately 50 percent mercury, with the rest consisting of silver, tin, copper, and zinc.

If you have mercury fillings, trace amounts of mercury vapor are constantly being released by your restorations. This increases when you chew food, drink beverages, and grind your teeth. For this reason alone, we believe that mercury fillings should be abandoned by modern dentistry.

Over 200 million Americans have had this highly toxic metal placed in their mouths, creating what many leading researchers believe to be a “toxic time bomb.” The World Health Organization has identified dental amalgam as a major source of mercury contamination in humans.

PROTECT YOUR HEALTH WITH DR. SAMBATARO

What’s hard to believe is that mercury amalgam is legally treated as a highly dangerous material before it’s placed in your mouth and after it’s removed. However, for almost 200 years, traditional dentists have insisted that it becomes a safe and stable substance once the mercury is mixed into an amalgam and placed in your mouth.

Today we know that isn’t true. The poisonous metal implanted in your teeth is continuously leaking into your body and collecting over time. Some experts believe that up to 90% of Americans are adversely affected by low-level mercury poisoning. Here at the Julian Center for Toxic-Free Dentistry, we firmly believe that dental care should be free of toxins.

One of the damaging effects of low-level mercury poisoning is weakening the immune system. Mercury leaking from your fillings could play a part in almost every illness, from cancer to chronic fatigue syndrome. We care about your overall wellness, so Dr. Sambataro offers mercury-free fillings to safeguard your smile while protecting the rest of your body as well.

To ensure the safe removal of mercury fillings, we strictly follow the IAOMT Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique (SMART) as well as the Huggins Protocol. Our comprehensive safety measures include specialized air filtration, patient protective barriers, high-volume evacuation systems, and supplemental oxygen to minimize exposure. By adhering to these rigorous standards, we prioritize your health and well-being throughout the entire removal process.

AMALGAM FILLING REMOVAL

Here at Julian Center for Toxic-Free Dentistry, we can remove toxic mercury fillings and replace them with safe, metal-free alternatives. Removing your mercury fillings can improve your overall health and you may notice that you have fewer health complaints overall.

In a study in Norway, dentists removed mercury fillings from patients suffering from a variety of health complaints. These included fatigue, headaches, muscle pain, lack of concentration, and memory problems. The researchers followed up with the patients after three months, one year, and three years, noticing a significant reduction in their health issues.

TOXIC MERCURY AMALGAM

Over 200 million Americans have had this highly toxic metal placed in their mouths, creating what many leading researchers believe to be a “toxic time bomb.” The World Health Organization has identified dental amalgam as a major source of mercury contamination in humans.

Dr. Blanche D. Grube (Past President of the International Academy of Biological Dentistry and Medicine) and Anita Vazquez-Tibau, reported on the latest peer-reviewed scientific research on mercury dental amalgams that used the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey (NHANES) CDC database.

Their paper shines the light on the centuries-old debate “Are those dental fillings that are about 50% mercury, safe?” For the first time, the number of mercury dental amalgam fillings implanted in the teeth of the US population was finally identified in 2015-2016. Before this time, there was no distinction between mercury and non-mercury dental fillings in the NHANES database.

Their study has established a correlation between the number of amalgam fillings and the likelihood of developing asthma and/or arthritis. Now that this database is available there will be more proof concerning the dangers of mercury amalgam.
